What is a BOSCH 9 ABS/ESP block?
The BOSCH ESP 9 (Hydraulic Control Unit) is an electronic and hydraulic module which combines two essential vehicle safety functions: ABS (anti-lock braking system) and ESP (electronic stability program).
ABS prevents the wheels from locking during emergency braking, while ESP intervenes to correct the vehicle’s trajectory in the event of loss of grip, understeer or oversteer.
The ESP 9 continuously monitors data from wheel speed, steering angle, acceleration and brake pressure sensors. It can adjust hydraulic pressure wheel by wheel via its 12 solenoid valves, and even act on engine torque if necessary.
