How does the Transit Custom motorhome meter work?

The Dashboard, also known as the instrument panel or instrument cluster, centralizes all the information you need to drive. It displays data such as speed, engine rpm, fuel level, temperature, mileage and warning lights. On the Transit Custom since 2017, this module generally includes a mixed display: needles, digital screens, LEDs, and indicator lights. The whole system is managed by an internal electronic board which communicates in real time with other vehicle ECUs, such as the engine ECU or the cabin control unit.

What malfunctions do we frequently observe?

Meter problems on Ford Transit Custom come in different forms:

Erratic or frozen needles: especially for speed, rpm or fuel level.

Dashboard completely inactive: no display, no indicator lights, hands remain motionless.

Intermittent problems: the meter switches on or off at random, often due to humidity, extreme temperature or vibration.

In this case, the cost of transporting your part is €34 round trip (€21 one way and €13 return). You can also choose to ship the part yourself, or hand-deliver it to us in Couëron (44).

Repair rates: For repair services, we draw up customized estimates based on the characteristics of your part and the breakdowns or problems encountered. Once the part has been received and diagnosed in our workshops, you will receive your quotation in your customer area and by email. The service will be carried out once your quotation has been validated.

Warranty: Parts repaired in our workshops are guaranteed for 1 year from the date of repair. This means that if your equipment breaks down again or has a problem within the warranty period, we will pay for transport, any new spare parts and any other services required to keep it running smoothly.
