What is the role of a BCM on a van or truck?
The BCM FORD belongs to the family of cockpit control units. It controls the various functions associated with the vehicle’s interior and exterior. Most often, it manages the centralization of the car’s doors, lighting systems, electric windows, windshield wipers and, in some cases, the horn or dashboard display. Depending on the automaker, they may be called BCM (Body Control Module), BSI (Boîtier de Servitude Intelligent), FRM (Footwell Module), UCH (unité de commande habitacle), Boîtier de confort, Boîtier réseau de bord, SAM (Signal Acquisition and Actuation Module), JBE (junction box electronics) or LCM (Light Control Module). Each on-board unit is designed according to the vehicle’s electronic system, and communicates with the car’s other ECUs to collect and distribute data on the car’s speed, brightness, locking or ignition. How can I have it repaired? And how much does the repair cost?
Transport and delivery: You have the option of using our transport service to ship the faulty part from your company. Once your request has been validated by our team, you'll receive a shipping label to stick on the box in which you've packed your part. In this case, the cost of transporting your part is €34 (excl. VAT) return (€21 (excl. VAT) outward and €13 (excl. VAT) return). You can also choose to ship the part yourself, or hand-deliver it to our workshop in Couëron (44).
Repair rates: For repair services, we draw up customized estimates based on the characteristics of your part and the faults or problems encountered. Once the part has been received in our workshops, one of our specialized electronics technicians will draw up a breakdown diagnosis and a repair plan. You will receive your quotation in your customer area and by email. The service will be carried out once your quotation has been signed and paid for.
Warranty: Parts repaired in our workshops are guaranteed for 1 year from the date of repair. This means that if your equipment breaks down again or has a problem within the warranty period, we will pay for transport, any new spare parts and any other services required to keep it running smoothly.
Timescale: On average, we repair your equipment within 72 hours (from the time we receive it to the time it leaves our workshops). For a more precise estimate of your repair service, please consult the "Estimated service time" section. In the event of an emergency repair, we can offer you an "express lead time" option, so that your part can be taken care of in our workshops within 24 to 48 hours.
